What is Building Biology?

Building biology is the evaluation and control of health hazards in the built environment. This involves assessing the home for allergens, toxicants, electromagnetic fields and biotoxins unique to a water-damaged building, and providing strategies to address exposure and/or source control and abatement.

Why Consider a Building Biology Assessment?

 

When chronic illness or allergies are resistant to treatments including supplements, lifestyle, diet and medication then it is time to consider the impact of the home or work environment. This is especially true if you feel better when you spend time away from home or work, or if symptoms commenced with a move to a new home or place of work.

Having a home or work place assessment can uncover potential toxic health triggers and allows you to move forward with a plan of action, or gain peace of mind that your home or work place are supportive of good health.

A building biology assessment is half detective work and half education and I welcome the presence of interested family members. Many times the solution that will create the greatest impact comes as a complete surprise to my clients.
